SXSW 2013 – Austin, Texas

[nggallery id=2]

SXSW DAY ONE: Busted! I was loading up the car to head out to the TXMILK showcase when BAM I fell on the last step of the stairs. It was a pretty hysterical sight, unfortunately there was no one, and I mean no one to help me up! I laid in a glamorous puddle of the stuff I was carrying, all dolled up in my show jacket and high heeled shoes. I was in horrible pain. I laid there cussing and crying, alone. For about 10 minutes. Seriously, does anyone get up early on a Sunday anymore? Finally, I managed to get myself up, hurriedly wrapped an ace bandage around my ankle and my shoe and headed out to the show. It wasn’t until after my show that I realized how badly I hurt it.

SXSW DAY TWO – SIX: In bed, ice on ankle, painkillers, netflix, sleeping, and periodically going to various industry networking parties with the amazing KC Mancebo of Clamorhouse, including the Grammy block party, Horseshoe Casino showcase, and the Whole Planet Foundation benefit party.

SXSW DAY SEVEN: Hooray, I can sort of walk and it’s a good thing, I am playing The K1LL3R Party hosted by Killer Artists Agency at Austin Java on Barton Springs. I was also volunteering during the party from 7 am – 2 am. Wow! I was exhausted and my ankle was back to swollen and throbbing. We had a great time though, and I was blown away by the final act of the night “Chanel Rocks“. Chanel is 2X Grammy Nominee (performed on the Grammy’s in 2008), 2X BET Award Nominee, Winner of the Dove and Stellar Award, #1 on Billboard Charts 3 Times, and a Former member of the best selling gospel trio of ALL TIME selling nearly 3 Million Records , Trin-i-tee 5:7’s. Chanel is going to have you on your feet!!!! Check out her video below, it will blow you away!

SXSW LAST DAY: ST. PATRICKS DAY. In bed, ice on ankle, painkillers, netflix, sleeping.

Finally, after three more days of resting. I think I am sort of feeling back to normal!  I can mostly walk. So now, it’s time to get started on finishing my album! I even planted flowers in the garden today! Yay!
